Seeing Your Ways to Success #1

.
After a ling and bloody conflict peace was finally declared. people rejoiced and for the first time in many years they came out in large numbers into the streets, parks and market places. to celebrate the occasion, you took your family out to a restaurant and as you ate, you chatted about your plans for the future. Things were looking bright and you were relaxed and happy.
Suddenly, your table shatters and broken shards of glass fly in all direction. Sharpened by years of war and vigilance, your mind reacts and as you dive under the table, you drag the two nearest people with you. A minute passes and nothing happens. Gingerly, you emerge from under the table only to see two young children, a boy and a girl about 6 to 7 years old fighting and shouting outside, throwing bottles and stones at each other. Looking around, you notice their father sitting under the tree watching them but he is doing absolutely nothing. The name is wearing a dirty soldier's uniform, his chest covered with fresh blood and his face is grim and unemotional.

Imagine that you were there... How would you feel if this had happened to you? Fearful? Angry? Hateful? Frustrated? Disappointed? ... and what will you do now? Will you, like most people, leave the restaurant to avoid further problems or will you confront the person is anger to show your displeasure at the behavior of his children? Whatever you do, you will not able to enjoy the day as you have planned. Fortunately, before you can take action, the restaurant owner goes talking, you notice the soldier start sobbing uncontrollably.

The owner cones and explains what the man told her. This morning his wife, while gathering firewood outside the village stepped on a land mine and was badly wounded, He carried her broken badly on foot in to the hospital because he was no money for transportation, but before they reached the city his wife died. He didn't know what to do... so he took the tow children and he sat and waited in front of the restaurant with the hope that when the restaurant closes the owner would be kind enough to give his children some left-over food.

How does that make you fell now? I think you will feel sadness and pity for him and the children. What would you do now you know the circumstances? I believe you would help and advise him and if you would, you may even give some money to buy food for the children or maybe you would share your food to them.

Now, think of what happened to your emotions. A few minutes ago you were angry, afraid and frustrated and you wanted to leave. What prompted your feeling to change and made you decide to stay and help them? What was happening here? The situation had not changed, the children were still fighting noisily, the man was still sitting outside the restaurant and your clothes were soiled and wet with soup and soft drinks. The situation and not changed but the way you perceive and understand it has totally changed. By seeing the situation  properly you are able to continue to enjoy your celebration and the man receives the help that he needs for his children.
let us follow the eager group of young people on the way to find their treasure. On reaching the pagoda, they tried the keys that the old man gave them. the Key that open that first door is labeled 'Seeing the Behaving'. The way you see your situation determines how you behave or act in response to that situation.

Action creates results, good actions create good results and had actions create  had results, Therefore, in order to be successful we must be able to perceive ourselves, our world and everything in it correctly. We "see" or perceive of our world not only with our eyes but through the combination of our 5 senses, our sight, sound, touch, taste and smell. Together they create our thoughts.
Everything originates from our thoughts. Our thinking creates certain beliefs which in turn generate expectation. For example, if as child we believe that we are clever, then we will expect to pass our exams at the end of the year. This expectation makes us feel good about ourselves and about our school life. How we feel determines our attitude toward learning and so we become attentive, diligent and enthusiastic about learning. In turn, our attitude influences our behavior, so we do our homes work carefully and willingly. Ultimately,  our action contributes directly to our achievement or success. The result that we get will either strengthen or weaken our ingrained beliefs, and a thought action cycle is formed. Over time, and if we do not change our thinking about the situation; we will develop a believe system or life assumption.

Humans are very rational beings, and we do things because it makes sense to us, similarly, if we refuse to do something, it is also because it make sense to us not to do it. The problem is what we see or what believe we see is not always correct. Things are not always what it seems because our perception including our personal experiences, our perspectives and our "power to see".
